Mike Huckabee to Keynote Ecumenical Arts Event vivace (veev-vatch-ay) in Mobile January 26th, 2010
Mobile, AL - January 26th, 2010 Mike Huckabee will keynote an ecumenical arts event called vivace (veev-vatch-ay). vivace features live music, art exhibits, a mainstage show, and keynote address by media star Mike Huckabee. vivace promotes the many organizations, artists, and performers involved, providing ecumenical encouragement and healing in difficult times. Though a first-time event, vivace is being met with resounding acclaim.
Participants in vivace span generations, denominations, and schools. Artists, performers, and musicians come from the University of Mobile, McGill-Toolen High School, Murphy High School, Saint Paul's Episcopal High School, Cottage Hill Christian Academy, and more. The event draws support from churches and institutions such as The Catholic Archdiocese of Mobile, First Baptist North Mobile, Cottage Hill Baptist Church, and Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. The event also includes various highlight exhibits, such as Stephanie Morris' gallery of artists, which Mrs. Morris has organized herself and features some fantastic talent. Further, look for Page and Palette's exhibit with Christian authors, Beth Burgess' first public showing of her amazing work Hope Bearers, Pat Ernst's display of children's art, and Fred Rettig's award-winning, handcrafted boat.
vivace is produced by the United for Life Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Lee John Bruno that networks and promotes individuals and organizations doing culture-building work. The event is hosted by Cottage Hill Baptist Church, and lasts from 6pm - 9pm. vivace is divided into two parts: an open house of music and art by schools and professionals from 6pm-7:30pm, and then a mainstage show featuring Mr. Huckabee's keynote beginning at 7:30pm.
This mainstage show includes includes jazz-flamenco fusion guitarists Roman Street, the nationally recognized University of Mobile's Voices of Mobile, the sensational acapella group Elements of Difference, and pop-Broadway performance group Sounds of Mobile.
After the music performances, Mr. Huckabee will take the stage to give the keynote address on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. As a media star and public figure, Mike Huckabee has a history and reputation of presenting himself with kindness and dignity. As such, he is a perfect fit for the first vivace.
Proceeds from vivace will go to benefit participating local charities, organizations, and artists.
